Okay, now that I’ve recovered from my previous aside and post of old information, here’s something that shouldn’t be too surprising to anyone paying attention.
According to this article from the Washington Post, satellites of all sorts were used to help find and monitor Osama Bin Laden. Some SIGINT (Signals Intelligence) here, a little IMINT (Imagery Intelligence) there and some MASINT (Measurement and Signature Intelligence) as well. I don’t know much about these satellite operations efforts, but don’t you think it would make sense for the US to use everything in its quiver to hunt someone like Osama down? And satellites would be in that quiver for sure. It’s probably going to be one of the few times your logic and the government’s coincide…
